Congratulations, Dave Gardner!

We are pleased and proud to announce the selection of Dave Gardner, Rotary Foundation chair, board member, past president, and advisor to our new Interact Club, as District Governor Nominee for District 7930. Dave will assume governorship of the Rotary district for the 2017-18 Rotary year beginning July 1, 2017.

“David displayed a strong commitment to Rotary and demonstrated inspirational leadership ability,” said John Hall, selection committee member and past governor of District 7930.

Immediate past governor and selection committee member Peter Simonsen added, “Dave has strong leadership qualities and is well thought of throughout Rotary District 7930 by our members.  He is well organized, has a strong base of knowledge about Rotary, and has a good understanding of how to lead a volunteer organization.” Besides his work with our club, Dave currently serves as an Assistant Governor for the district and is Chairman of the district’s Technology and Communications Committee.

“It is impossible to adequately convey the level of Dave’s commitment to Rotary or his value to the organization,” said President Amy. “With his selection as District Governor Nominee, our entire district will only benefit more from his leadership.”

If you could sum up Dave’s focus in one word, that word would have to be “service.” That word lends itself to every facet of his life: service to his family, service to his customers, service to his employees, and service to his community. As the owner and president of Boyds Direct, a full service marketing solutions provider, he has served Stoneham and surrounding communities, and many of us, for three decades.

Putting in the long hours required to effectively meet his customers’ needs and operate a successful business has not stopped him from his personal commitment to building a stronger community. In addition to Rotary International, the Boy Scouts of America is fortunate to receive the bulk of Dave’s volunteer time and efforts. As part of the BSA, he served as Vice President of Outdoor Programs and Properties for the Boston Minuteman Council as well as District Chairman of the Flintlock District.
